Our free gratitude journal printables for kids encourage learning about being grateful and kind at an early age. Writing things down will rewire their brains to remember better and be more optimistic! If they are younger and cannot write yet, you can help write it down for them.
First, journaling helps to develop critical thinking skills. Becoming an excellent critical thinker means thinking more deeply about what’s going on around you and the things you experience. They begin to realize that gratitude is a choice and helps them choose to be thankful. Journaling helps them understand how it feels to be kind and start to think of other ways to spread joy.
Second, journaling helps them to learn discipline. When writing daily, it teaches how to stick to a schedule and become more productive. Daily practice helps to see the good in our lives when our brains want to dwell on the bad.
It also disciplines them to journal their anger and frustrations on paper instead of friends or family. They can write about how they can handle the experience better if in that situation again. The section “What I Learned This Week” is a great place to write about new experiences. You can schedule a day to talk about this section with your child if needed.
And last, it helps them to learn gratitude and kindness. Journaling daily with prompts helps them start thinking about other kind things they can do to help others. Thankfulness is a learning strategy that allows them to look for the positive and not dwell on the negative. Journaling helps their minds to FIND good things to write about, and since their brain is a muscle, this helps them exercise and develop learning about thankfulness and kindness.
I have also added a Weather Section. They can observe the weather every day and see how it affects their daily lives and activities. Learning about weather patterns is fun and educational at the same time.
Gratitude Journal Printables For Kids is not just for kids, but adults can also use these pages. Make it a habit of being thankful or learning something new each week and writing it down. You never know where journaling will take you.

I have been journaling for the last eleven years and love to pull out my old journals and reflect on my past thoughts and writings. It will be the same for you and your children. It will be fun to see how they had grown and matured in gratitude, kindness, and even the silly things they wrote when they were “little.”
I also have Kid’s Gratitude Journal Books on sale at Amazon.com. They have the same journaling pages inside, but with colorful illustrated artwork. Click Here To See Kid’s Journals.
