I’ve meant to blog about Olivia’s (my granddaughter) 2nd birthday party last week, but I have been under the weather. This year my daughter and I wanted to do something unique and different for her and invite her friends and the neighborhood children. We decided to have a Birthday Party/Halloween Party and have the kids wear their costumes.
Birthday/Halloween Party
Of course, we got on Pinterest and found too many decorating ideas and fun food to make. We divided this between us to make it easier since my daughter works and doesn’t have much time. She would be in charge of cleaning her house, the drinks, and the sweets. I was in charge of fruit, chips and dip, and hot dogs. All disguised as some scary Halloween appetizers.
We wanted to get a feel for how many people would be attending, so we sent out digital invitations. We had so many maybe’s that we weren’t sure how much food we needed. That meant that I would need to buy extra food for the latecomers. We had enough food and some extra leftover for the next day. Whew!
So many people were there that I began to wonder if I had enough food. Some of the parents even dressed in their costumes, which made it extra fun. We, of course, built a bonfire for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. Everyone seemed to have a great time, but we didn’t get as many pictures as I wanted. My daughter is a photographer, and she usually takes too many, but she was worn to a frazzle and decided to relax this year. A Birthday/Halloween Party turned out to be a great idea.
